I have thought about this Steve, but considering its a repairable writeoff I have to do the rebuild to a standard of orig. I will look into it though as I would really like to do what you have shown above, got lotsa pics as referance for it.

I'm liking the look of that. Would you still need additional protection tho?

I'm wondering about a hard hit and the chances of it bending, buggering up the door and/or inner door frame?

Or is that not likely if built right?

I reckon on the road in under 2mths rego'd and running (not lifted). Jimmy told me 3 weeks the other day but I think that is a little to enthusiastic.

And anyway how long does it take to put a lift kit in. A weekend at most.

We did find an interesting factory standard in the front door when we took the skin off it. (It was on to neat to have been taken off before) As an extra support measure there was a block of wood Zippy tied in there I think it was to the supports for the electric windows. I'm sure Jimmy will correct me if I'm wrong

Yeah Muz will be on the road by Xmas. The wait at the mo is going to be the replacement panels. Sill is all removed, waiting on panel, roof is 90% up, roof outter skin is going to be removed tomorrow.

Passangers side door is fitted again, now it closes, little tight but just needing final adjustment which will happen later down the track, for now its on and working.

Decided to RR the drivers door, actually as a buckle to it thats going to be to hard to fix. Sourcing a replacement one at the mo.

I need to stop looking at this post, now I'm getting ideas for the project XJ I just bought, and I know already I cannot afford it and that heather will say NO to most things I ask for.
