For starters, let's get one thing straight - from now on can everyone please use the measurement from centre of wheel hub to arch for the measurement? Measuring from the bottom lip of the rim only confuses the situation for everybody!!
Right, now that we have that sorted, the facts:
- American WJ's (and Aussie non-Up Country suspension package equiped WJ's ie. Overland) have a standard ride height of 457mm (F) and 464mm (R)
- Aussie models with the Up-Country package were about 3/4" (19mm) higher, so for simplicity's sake, let's say somewhere between 475mm and 485mm all round
- American lift kits are based on the American standard lift height as the base, where as Australian kits seem to be based on the Up-Country height as the base
- Your WJ is measuring in at around 484mm (F) and 494mm (R) based on your rim measurement
Based on the above information, you either have:
- An Up-Country package that has not sagged, but actually increased in height by around 10mm (extremely unlikely)
- An Up-Country kit with 10mm packers which has not sagged at all (highly unlikely)
- A 50mm spacer lift with sagging non-Up-Country suspension (not likely)
- A 25mm spacer lift with sagging Up-Country suspension (also not likely)
- An American lift kit which is 2" above standard that has sagged (possible)
- A small spring lift kit of between 25-40mm which has sagged by quite a bit (most likely)
Honestly, looking at your photos I definitely reckon you have a lift kit of some type installed (based purely on the height) and your rear shocks also have rubber boots over them which indicates that they are not standard. Why don't you climb under the car with a torch and have a look for some brand names or part numbers on the springs or shocks so that we have something to go by? If you're not sure, just take photos and post them on here?
Here's a photo of my WJ with a sagging Up-Country kit before I installed the IRO 3" kit. You will notice it is much lower than yours in the photo above - I'd say at least 25-30mm.
Forget the 4" lift unless you want to go long arm and be prepared to spend big $$$ on the things you should. Not saying it's not possible, but for what you want it's overkill. Go for an Aussie 40 or 50mm lift or an American 3" IRO at the most - even then you may still have spend some $$$ - I know I did and still have to in order to make things work well.
