Hey Andy,

Would you believe I was doing the same thing and running the coax for my UHF through the firewall on the weekend and found the carpet wet as well. What is the cause? Can you point me in the right direction for that thread on it?

Finished putting the UHF in this morning (pics attached). Nice and neat in the coin tray, hopefully far enough away from the rugrats sticky little fingers!

if the carpet is wet you have a blocked ac return line, pretty common problem

Cool

It doesn't have to be a blockage. Without an extension on the short tube water runs back under the tube into the foam seal and wicks back into the car. I ran a pipe cleaner up the tube and found no blockage on mine. Putting an extension ( I used polypipe) on the outlet under the bonnet forces the water away from the fire wall. The manual states a tube should be fitted, there was none on mine.

Default My two cents worth.

I have a dual band combo radio, it is a 5 watt uhf as well as the old 27mhz mainly used for my boating jobs I often end up doin...some truckies still use it. I have installed both antenna on the bar on the passenger side as I hate having things in my view and the missus is always reading books anyways Heres my pics.

I have a small 5 watt GME but my ol man needed a smaller unit in his car so we swapped.. Have had no issues thus far..
