yes gu would be better due to the increase in strength in the front cv,s
but the extra cost in buying gu diffs makes it an expensive project

also gu diffs have a wider track than gq diffs which is good for stability

the diff (think its is called h260) out of the leaf sprung gu tray back
is a much bigger diff that is similar to dana 60 in strength and has full floating axles but that is only made for rear application and would be a bit harder to find .

the front diff from the 4.8 petrol patrols also has bigger brakes but still runs the
same size cv,s , axles and r&p as the other diffs in gu patrols

you raise a valid point wooders. but why take a GQ diff out or convert it from CVs, there isnt much point. espically when you have a plethora of crappy chinese hubs sitting around. Something will have to change when the LS3 (still standard 4.2 petrol) goes in for the next race season though or they will near on break from tourqe???

I prefer CV's myself, they are generally enclosed from the crap better and I honestly don't think my turning circle of my JK 4door is any better than a LWB Patrol.
I also see a pulsing power effect on unijoints in marginal traction situations, whether this is good or bad I don't know, but would put more shockload on them I imagine.
I'm not sure if the surface area sperad is better or worse for a uni or CV around the same physical size, have to have an engineer answer that one.
