nice you noticed the filler pipe diameter. we all flogged that idea for over a year and got no-where. th stevil fix was a larger pipe and the longranger tank fix was a larger pipe. chrysler in fact claim it is a faulty rollover valve and have kept insisting that is the case. will be interesting to see if in fact they have brought out a modified filler hose. you will forgive all us old hands for being sceptical.

I'm actually sceptical to davidd, but I prefer to remain optomistic and take it up to Chrysler with everything I can muster up. So far it's worked. Too easy to just sit back and say Chrysler wont do anything.

Btw, you keep refering to yourself as an old hand and seem to suggest I'm new to all this. This is my fifth Jeep, two TJ's and two XJ's have come before the current JK. I've been through my fair share of Jeep problems.

I've goto say though, I havent had one with problems as annoyingly difficult to solve as this JK.

Welll this is my second fill with the Blast it free method and it worked absolutley fantastically magnificently well AGAIN.

Roll up my sleeve on that arm (just in case of a blow back)
Put the nozzle in the filller tube with the handle at 2 o'clock ( almost upside down)
Pull trigger full on and hold it on full
Let go when it clicked off after 72L flat out ( took no time at all)

You little blooooooody beauty - if that keeps working i'll be a happy little Vegemite -- i think i was possibly the first to have the valve fix done and it did make it much better but lately has stopped working this works a treat.

So MR Marc Hillman - YES it works a treat - why did none of us think of blasting the damn valve open before ( strikes palm on forehead )

jbee with the handle at 2 o'clock is the nozzle right in with the blowback protector firmly against the tank filler top, or is the nozzle part way out with the filler neck open ?

Just had my 20K service and dealer has ordered the parts from Chrysler for the official fix. It's almost here (I think)!

As to the Blast It method - the nozzle orientation doesn't matter. You need a good seal between nozzle and filler, and hopefully some air in the hose, although I'm not sure how it would get in there. Surely the hose is full as far as the trigger? There must be enough air in the nozzle to do it.
