Thanks Brit, yes i will keep posting. We still have the 2005 WH and my 1995 XJ.
Anyway, the daughter was heading off in her GC with a bunch of mates to schoolies week in Dunsborough about 250 clicks South of Perth.
Day before she goes, she reports the car was driving weird and ABS light flashed on. She used her JScan and told me it was the left rear sensor.
I drove everywhere looking for a new one. NAPA, Bursons, Repco and even the Jeep Dealer. None in WA!!
Finally called Jeep Spares in Perth and they had and aftermarket "Standard" brand one on the shelf for $45.
While i worked on the car adding oil and checking everything over, the daughter and her friends raced up to get the part. A few hours later it was all done and car was running great again. First time in ages that her 2005 WH has played up.. but all good again now....
Cheers,

Hi Alex.
It is great to read you will still be around.
I ripped the wire from the abs sensor whilst driving through deep snow. I was surprised at how weird the jeep behaved. ABS coming on and off and the transfer case locking up.
I got ripped off as mechanic told me the entire bearing hub had to be replaced to fix the sensor!

I was told that you had to buy the whole hub too.
We all know that that is not the case.
This is the 3rd wheel sensor I think we have replaced, but her car is coming up to doing 270,000 kms now so not too bad.
Cheers,

OK, so i haven't been on here in a while because the daughters Grand Cherokee has just been driving great and she hasn't reported any problems.
However, today she does have one, and its unfortunate, as the weather is heating up in West Oz.
Her aircon fan motor has stopped working. I tested it today and it does not respond at all at any speed you turn the dial too.
Any idea where i should be looking re: fuses, relays, actual blower location and plugs i can check, common faults etc..
Cheers,

Hmmmm crickets....
Anyway, I had some free time this morning and the daughter was asleep so I got stuck in.
First the fuses/relay. Two under the bonnet and one under the steering wheel/foot well area. All good. I did swap the relay around with another one, but still blower was dead.
Next, I removed the glove box and lower passenger side foot well panel. You can see the blower resistor module that controls fan speeds and you can see the blower motor and cylindrical fan unit. I unplugged everything and replugged it all in. Still dead. I tested the wires to the resistor module and didn't seem to be getting any power. However i tested the wires to the fan/motor unit and was getting 12v. Still not working though.
I took the fan/motor unit out and connected it directly to her car battery. Whoosh.. the fan worked well, so eliminated that from any problems. I plugged it back in and all of a sudden everything worked properly. All fan speeds working etc...
I unplugged again, gave all the connectors a spray with electrical cleaner/lubricant and bolted all the components back in and plugged every thing back up. Whoosh.. working perfectly.
Still not sure what i did or what was wrong but the glitch in the matrix seems to of been fixed for now.
Daughter took off in her car with aircon blasting..
All good again...
Cheers,

Worn brushes in electric motors can cause the motor to stop and start working erratically .

Thanks Stew,
You may be correct in assuming this one is worn and may stop again at some stage. I will see how it goes for now.
In the meantime, i went on Rockauto. Only $50 Aud for a new motor and $9 for the resistor module.
I may pick both up on my next order, along with some service items like oil filter etc..
Cheers,
