There exists a TSB for diesel JKs, build dates before 16-Jan-09. It updates parts for: 1) vent hose, 2) vent filter and 3) vent valve. But it only fixes the intermittent problem with the stuck valves, and replaces neither the filler neck nor the filling hose. It left the same diameter. Boo! The TSB originates from CJ in Germany, so there’ll be a 6 week turnaround for parts.

Mine is JUN-08 build and I‘ve never had the issue so far (touch wood). The bowser clicks off when the tank is almost full (left 5-6 ltr) at full squeeze at car bowsers. Same observed on my partner’s petrol RAV4 that has 45 mm filling hose. And there never was that weird looking metal restrictor in my JK filler neck.

Also IMHO I can’t expect our JKs to handle high flow truck pumps at full squeeze for estimated flow rate of 75-100 ltr per minute (BP specs for high flow diesel pumps).

and it's a lottery with the build quality for components - some valves work, some don't.

Yeah thats why its called the STEVIL fix but it is still only good for 90% of the time and you still need to stick to the code, slope away from pump etc

It’s obvious the whole filling systems wasn’t well engineered. Taking into account properties of diesel fuel, a larger dia hose would be such a gain, but it looks like the whole system is dodgy. I wonder why the other half doesn’t have problems with it. Sounds like a lottery with the component quality, same deal as with those shitty yellow top batteries.
