this is the rust that was under the paint I have done 2 sections of the roof now, stripped off the pant and did a de-ox on the roof
there is still lumps in the roof that can bee seen in the picture and im going to redo, again

now just need to finish the rest

also I decided on a nice silver HOWEVER after hosing the ute down to get all the bog dust of I noticed its true colour in the sunlight gave the bonnet a good old polish in one spot.
now I was originally going to do it in a dark purple but couldn't pic a nice one, so when I seen this I though THATS IT, nice simple and factory colour Deep amethyst pearl. according to what I found on the internet its apparently a rare colour?
here I was thinking its a crappy navy blue.

so the roof is 98% done, im happy with how the bog has turned out this time (4L of bog later, a ton of sand paper and a million man hrs),
had to buy a new grinder as it decided to stop working when it gets hot
surprised the sanders are still going, good old Ryobi

just have the drivers roof gutter to finish grinding out then rip the paint on the side of the roof, treat the rust and prime it

then its ready for painting

Looks like the outer rail pressing on the right side turns towards the outside at the end but the left side turns inwards following the body line better.
