I have the Maxxis Bighorn MT-762s. ~27,000km and 1/3 gone. (15mm tread depth down to ~10mm)

I bought a set of wheels/tyres from Xiphos when he was under orders to clear space after replacing them, so wore them out then put the muddies on those rims. I was originally looking at them to use for a trailer, but those plans are on indefinite hold, so since I had the original 255s, I figured I might as well wear them out & check the mileage difference at the same time.

Sounds good. I am deciding between them and Federal Couragias at the moment, the Feds are slightly cheaper, I have had a listen to both and the road noise does not bother me on either so now it is coming down to wear and lifespan and it looks like the Bighorns are winning at the moment!

Thanks for the update.

Not too noisy onroad, at least with the softtop... Pretty good offroad. I keep surprising myself with how well I do with just the se & a basic OME 2" lift! They were ~$340 ea when I got them ~Jan2011.

Remove rear muffler (CRD) it has been the best mod I have done, the car drives so much smoother and increase in power all over the rev range has increased. I suggest to every CRD owner to bin the huge muffler..

relocated/skid bracket rear shock mounts and front and rear TB bracing. what a pain that was to do!

New balljoints, new draglink, new synergy springs, new synergy SS and 285/70/17 MTZ's.
The synergy progressive springs have made a world of difference to the ride. I would reccomend them over the OME springs any day.
