It's a shame because sometimes I hate having to tow a camper trailer everywhere. Especially when we live around the corner from the Watagans where it's a 5 minute drive to a bush campsite.

So for me a quick camp either means I buy a roof top tent or a decent ground tent. I don't want a rooftop tent because I love being able to take the hardtop off quickly. So now I have to find a decent sized tent that's quick to pop up.
A couple of weeks ago, my 14yo daughter asked if she could go down south with some people who had a camper van.
She said she needed to take a couple of swags because there was no room in the van for her or the daughter of the family she went with.
I was worried due to the cold and wet conditions but agreed to let her go.
She and her friend spent 3 nights in the rain and very cold conditions.
On collecting her from her friends place, I was informed that there was indeed plenty of room in the camper but they simply preferred to be out on their own under the trees in swags.
Awesome!

I'm not a fan of swags, I prefer to have something I can stand up in. I have a Wanderer instant up tent from BCF. The good thing is the fly is attached to the frame and it all goes up in one hit. This tent will sleep two easily.

In the bag it fits across the back seat and takes far less room than a swag.

I find that I can put this up and pull it down just as fast as a lot of swags.

I sat her down yesterday and had a heart to heart with her. I showed her the two choices knowing that she would pick the cheaper one. First was the Darche AT-4 which is similar to the one you have. Purposely, I showed her the AT-6, same tent just larger and more expensive.

Then I showed her the Darche Nebula 1550 (which is the one I really wanted). If you haven't seen one, they are a cross between a swag and a tent. She saw the price and said that she would prefer it over the AT-4.

It's only taken 3 marriges but I'm finally getting the hang of it.
