If that's the case there are a hell of a lot of people with this problem.
I think the issue with Furkew's plate position is that it probably can't be read from a predetermined radius from the left hand side of the car. The fact that it's angled back and not perpendicular to the centreline of the car is possibly also an issue for the boys in blue and the government revenue collectors.

My Mopar bar came with a plate that mounts behind the winch fairlead for mounting the number plate.

I like it in this position as it protects the winch control box from direct hits. It doesn't seem to affect the engine cooling and is probably a smaller surface area than a lot of driving lights that people put infront of their grilles.

Yeah it's a 60lt Waeco I had to take the "front" handle off and substitute a strap to tie it down with as it got a bit tight against the seat.

I made the storage rack

The bottom right is where the recovery gear, compressor and first aid kit goes, easy to get to by just opening the tailgate.

The middle and top spots I have plastic boxes that sit nicely in them and a set of MaxTraxx sits across the top up over the roll bar with the ragtop on haven't had the hardtop on with the rack in so not sure if they'll still fit like that.

Cheers
Lazy Dave

Really like the look of this setup Downsouth. I like the idea of a side by side setup rather the 2 flat drawers and the fridge in top (especially when you look at the cost of a drop slide)

Will be looking at building something similar myself soon for my 40Lt. What material have you used, how is it secured?
