Had a dream run to Barcaldine last week .. except for the price of fuel .. The best thing I ever did was the timing chain and hb runs like a dream for a engine with 400.000k on the clock and 26 yrs old It's the 99's turn this week just round town duties sometimes it is a bit hard to use two cars when you don't go out every day Cheap on fuel I suppose ..
I think I have finished my first RC Xj the green one has all the wiring done and the stock crappy interior fitted wit Rich from the walking Deas driving He is a 6 inch action figure and a bit small I have some 7 inch figures from Battlestar Galactia they are a better fit for the 3D printed interior So now which real XJ do I take to the bush to get pics of a toy XJ
I have ordered all the suspension parts to get my second build into a rolling chassis It will be painted blue and black like my 96 weathered and scratched up as well

XJ Life..

Well it's like owning a real XJ I have been waiting on suspension parts for RC build number 2 I have had the body and chassis for a while now I had to recover from buying them as they are the most expensive .. especially the full metal drivetrain chassis.
But Logic say's if you have 2 real XJ's you need 2 RC XJ's ......
So the suspension and drive shafts arrived and being the expert that I am I promptly put it in back the front The green one was sorta easy put the wheels on the chassis paint wire and mount the body and fit some electronics This one is like building a real car .
Being clever I based all my measurements off the green one .. But NO! totally different So Shit
And some idiot in China cant count I was supposed to get 4 x 65mm and 4 x 45mm suspension links but no I got 6 x 65 and 2 45's so I have to order another pack Trying to explain the fault to them was a waste of time so for $30 F^#K it just get another and then I put it on backwards and the shock lengths are wrong the whole diff angle is wrong ............ what fun
The green one has 100mm shocks so I thought same for the next one NO way too high and the diff angle is out once again So I ordered some 80mm shocks So I have to pull it all apart again in a couple of weeks
This RC stuff is intense I learned last night {youtube} that the shocks are shipped dry You have to put oil in them WTF!
I could rave on about so much more "LOL"
This one will take some time to become a replica of my 96 Limited
Enough Beer n Bullshit here are some pics
Full metal gearbox and transfer case

and here's the green one again
