Replaced the plugs this morning. Having pulled them to check them a few weeks ago & put them back in with anti-seize compound, it was quick to get them out this time. Replaced the OEM (probably original), plugs with NGK Iridium IX ones PN: lztr5ix-13 This set of 6 cost me what the local shops wanted for just one. They aren't the double platinum of the OEM, but I will see how they age.
All gaps checked, the OEMs were at their max opening of .053" the replacements came with the minimum of .048".
Pics to compare the OEM coming out with the new ones going in. The tips were mostly a clean white, so they seem to be still burning well, no fouling or running rich. The dark brown of the threads is from the anti-seize compound, the light brown is old mud... The whole engine looks that colour from the original owner... Anyone know some good stuff for cleaning off
really well baked on mud?
