Default Custom Rear Cargo Shelf JKU

Recently made removable rear Cargo Shelf, mainly for the dogs to travel happily looking out of the windows and leaving plenty of room below.

Well busy two days thanks to Victor (SBR Offroad!) what fantastic supply and after sales service! Even included a mercy dash on a Saturday to supply an unexpected rear trackbar bracket!
Started off fitting a Poison Spyder front an rear diff covers but with my Solid adjustable trackbars both front and rear wouldn't fit! So fixed front with a Teraflex Monster front trackbar and the teraflex rear bracket with stock trackbar. Had to press the bushes in with my vice but got there in the end.
Then made up some custom swaybar discos with factory rear links at the front with the bushes removed, mounted to teraflex pins! (again thanks Vic!) then made some chassis brackets to secure the links and swaybar when discoed. Very happy and ready for Harvey tomorrow! Unfortunately too dark for front pics when I finished!
Matt
I have to say I'm a bit disappointed at the use of a gloss finish where a flat finish would have been more appropriate

The teraflex monster trackbar looks good, hardly looks like you've gone away from standard there. And the rear trackbar bracket, did you notice any improvements? Or perhaps is it more of a 2dr thing seeing as one's arse is plonked almost over the axle.

Bwahaha hell yeah, tell me about it Yom! Was very frustrated I could only find some old gloss black and it was dark and I was late for a bbq with the neighbours with Harvey in the morning!!

Dont worry, just for you (oh and me, its annoying me knowing its there haha) I will repaint asap now I know th ediscos work perfectly, dont rub discoed and fit and remove easily!

I am stoked with the rear Yom, didnt think I would notice a difference, as with most people I though it would be more in my mind that actual...but seriously...huge difference. Enough to rave to a dis-interested wife about how tight and responsive the car feels and how less the back squiggled after a bump! Very happy withthe look and performance, like it being improved but still appear relatively stock!

For my first run discoed...wow what a difference in ride off-road! Love it!

Matt.

I did the same thing. Was spraying away and a few minutes later noticed the gloss was not "drying out". Checked the can and realised I was glossing everything. Felt stupider than usual that evening.

Just be aware with that teraflex bracket that on full compression it is likely to smack into the crossmember/spring bucket area. 2" bumpstop should fix it.

Don't worry about it too much. A run through the mud & you won't be able to tell there is any gloss black there at all! (Spoken from experience! )

Amazing the difference the discos make, isn't it! So much smoother & so much more traction when it gets uneven.

Loving it, stopped the washing machine rock over small undulations that the swaybar usually causes. As for the mud...well after the carload of Harvey mud I returned with and the two hours pressure washing...I actually have a feeling there is no foreign paint left...prob not much original paint either!!

haha
