With the standard guards they rub like a bastard unless you put 3" bump stops in & with only a 2" lift you will lose to much upward travel, if you use flat flares & rims with the right offset you should get away with it

285/70/17 work well, only small amount of rubbing on the inner guard at full flex & a bit of rubbing on the sway bay with the standard rims, nothing to be worried about, I have a set of standard wheels & tyres a set of 285/70/17 km2's on standard rims & a set of 315/70/17 on 4.5" backspace wheels with 3" bump stops so have tried the 3 sizes, at the moment running the 315/70/17 but thinking of putting the 285's back on for road work & better fuel consumption

I have another question. I am thinking of going to the 2" Mopar springs. I know they are harsher ride. But would they handle better on the bitumen because its a harder ride? Most of my stuff will be long distance and sand. Would the Mopar be fine?

Check out my Ride(s)
Default

I ran them on the petrol shorty with the stock shocks for about 5,000km. Cornered like it was on rails! The missus loved that part of them as she drives like a damn race driver on the roundabouts (hence I have to rotate my tyres every 5000km too).

I found when following her driving there was not only virtually no body roll, but also bot a lot of suspension movement at all, mostly it was the tyres. Lowering the pressure worked OK to soften the ride up a little, but the missus eventually got jack of the vibrations on the highway.

There is a video of me going up a hill, followed by Kimmeh. She had the OME springs and shocks and I had the Mopar 2in lift with stock shocks still. Both had the front sway bar disconnected:

(Cant work out how to get photbucket videos to show in here so these are links to them...)
