The standard intake into the airbox isn't all that big, without having seen the murchisons snorkel in the flesh I'm guessing it wouldn't be any smaller.

The first time I looked at the standard air box I thought there was going to be power in it but I've dyno tested it a few times now and it does no pose a restriction even at 215kw engine power.

The Airflow snorkel uses the standard opening in the airbox. But it has to do two 90 degree turns just before it goes in. I don't see how the Murchison one can avoid doing that. The photos of the Murchison snorkels in their boxes only seems to have two pieces of plastic. There must be more to get the air into the airbox.

Here are a couple of photos of the Airflow where it enters the airbox. Could someone with a Murchison take similar photos and post them, please??

Trailhawk

It would be interesting to dyno two vehicles, one with the Murchison and one with the Airflow...

Cheers

Ok, but what I mean is that as long as the snorkel pipe is at least as wide as that narrow goose neck tube going from the top of the headlight to the airbox (as per OEM) then it shouldn't restrict air flow in comparison.
