Me: "Yes, and it still didn't fix that, you should have that in your notes too, I would like this Service Bulletin inacted, can you please order the parts"
Dealership: "I highly doubt that it's still broken, considering we fixed it. We will have to have it in to diagnose it to see if it's elligable for this Bulletin"

It's a 2007 CRD with a history of me complaining about this! I couldn't believe it!
I've never mentioned the problem with mine to the dealer in the 11months of ownership. I fully expected the bring it in and we will see whats wrong deal. Instead when I asked about a factory fix for the fuel filler, was told yes there is a bulliten on that and they will order the parts straight away. I couldn't believe how easy it was.

A bit of consistancy would be nice eh.

wait till you book it in and get it back again with the old standard, " we have tested your vehicle and the problem did not present at the time of testing"

Or me. Been waiting for a couple of weeks now for the parts. Haha

Meanwhile it no longer has the slow fill issue which is awesome. But I won't say that out loud because it'll happen again.

Just filled up again (3rd time) and all still good after the fix has been done but have noticed the fuel gauge does not go all the way to the full mark since the fix, will mention this on my next visit.

wilf, i've got the unlimited with 80l tank. i had the slow fill problem till i put the long range tank in. but it still has a habit of taking all but the last bit in the main and soving the excess in the reserve. my needle also stops just short of the full mark. leaved me about 12litres short of full. i can trickle the rest in in a fairly short time. had an xj that was the same. never did fill fast, but always clicked off with about 10 litres to go and had to be trickle filled the last bit. might be a jeep thing. maybe some others can give you some more information. but a clean fill up to the last 10 litres is way better than you had before. there is still a problem with that rollover valve in the tank (no removeable) and it seems to be the cause of not being able to complete the fill on vehicles with slow filling problem, even after a fix has been fitted.

Yes I do agree it is much better to have 95% in 2 minutes than spending 20 minutes to get half a tank, will be less of an issue next year once we get the Long Ranger fitted.

wilf if you can't fill it right up, climb underneath and have a look at the back end of the tank. you will see a black palstic tube (tank breather) coming off the top, going across the vehicle andup towards the fuel filler. on the tank side of the vehicle you should find a joiner clip in that tube. undo the joiner clip and see any fuel runs out. a few blokes have done this and say that drininbg that fuel out of the breather lines gives them a really good fill up. it may help you, but if you overfill the tank pou will get more fuel in the breather the problem will return. works for some. worth a try mate.
