I've searched tirelessly on here for anyone running 255/85R16 (= ~33in). Can't find anything.

Would a lift be required on an 07 CRD auto to prevent rubbing on tyres of this size?

Is there a reason why people are not running this, other than 285/75R16 is more common (i.e.easier to get a hold of) and probably lots cheaper? The merits in this size that I can see are no need for new flares or new rims (i.e. with different BS). There is also less stress on steering components with less rubber on ground, which also means better fuel economy.

Opinions...

I think the reason people aren't running them is because they are not available in Oz, you need to import that size from the States. I know that was the case for the 255/80R17's when I was looking.

Warranty? Bullshit. You still have your warranty in tact.

Were about to deck out a car here with our gear sitting in the showroom of Melbourne!
Maybe the Oz mopar lift is no good but the one from the states is pretty good and drives well on the blacktop, thats the kit im going for once my jeep is ready.

height in real life is close to 2.5", flex is awesome for that height, warranty?????.

When I was over in Hawaii last year I hired a JK (it was a 4dr Rubicon). It felt higher than my CRD JKU and the springs also seemed a lot softer (it had quite a nice ride that seemed a lot more compliant around bumpy roads) but when I've searched on the internet it seems that the springs that were fitted were standard fitment for the Rubicon. The springs were labelled with "5212" "6317AC". Does anyone know if these are taller than the springs we get here (specifically on the CRD JKU)? If not then I'm going crazy as I'd swear it was a good 2-3" taller than mine.

As with any lift, it does not effect the warranty of the vehicle, and that one you linked to is not actually made by Mopar, its made by LKI Enterprises, who hold the warranty on the equipment. They state very clearly that although the fitment of aftermarket parts does not in itself void your vehicles warranty, any aftermarket parts fitted are not covered by the vehicles warranty, and, any damages caused to the rest of the vehicle by the aftermarket parts is not covered under anyones warranty.

Having said that - the flex shots shown for a 2.5" lift are pretty impressive I must say. But the front track bar and all the brackets for the relocation of the steering damper are useless as they are LHD versions.
