I can only comment on other 4WD I've owned, not Jeep specific.
e.g I kept bending the draglink on my Hilux, so I bought a cro-moly H/D job, seemed to do the trick, but then one day I snapped the ball clean off the pitman arm. The next weakest link. left me stranded on the track, with a god awful recovery, hindsight for me was I was better of with a bent part than a broken one.
IMO if your going to upgrade one part either have full confidence in the other components or upgrade those as well.
