have been doing some more research.

can get a rear 9" for around 3k ready to bolt under the jeep either widetrac or narrow specs. How does a 9" compare with an amc 20 in terms of strength? Could it handle 35's and v8?

Also, f truck front dana 44 diff would be out of the question as the pumkin is on the wrong side. So that would mean its either fsj/ jtruck diffs or patrol? I like the idea of patrol diffs due to the standard ratio's available and you can pick up a set fairly cheaply.

What's your thoughts?

If you are going to go the patrol route, get the suspension off it: ie arms, panhard brackets and radius brackets. Go coil in the front OR rear. Engineer will be more flexible if you use suspension from another vehicle.

I may know of a fsj drivetrain going, just need to get there.

Forgot to add, if you do go with a ford d44/60, any of the jeep transfer cases will bolt up as long as they are the 6 bolt round pattern(pretty much everything post dana300. Clocking rings maybe needed depending on the case as there is an odd ball one that clocks the otherway.

Just another option. If I didn't have a killer deal on my drivetrain parts, 231 would have been my choice for the tcase.

Fsj needs to be quadtrac to be rh pumpkin.
