I shudder at the thought of a hybrid 4X4, Jeep have enough trouble now trying to get the current electrics to work, just look at the WH transfer case, the ACC on WK2, the new Cherokee transmission just to name a few.

I think the trouble these days is the complexity required to try to force modern performance/efficiency expectations out of technology that's just about run its course. Personally, I love the idea of something like a Cherokee with an electric motor on each wheel and an internal combustion engine to serve only as a generator to replenish batteries on the go (a la Chevy Volt).

My son has a 2012 overland and the ACC has been giving no end of grief, still under warranty but they have replaced just about everything related to it( including the front sensor at $6000) and it still won't work anymore than a couple of days before throwing some sort of code and won't work until it goes back to 'shop and they fiddle with it again. They have had some guru from Brisbane come up and look at it and still the same.
I have the 2015 overland and so far have had no issues at al.l
