I've got mine booked in this Friday for the recall. I'll be asking to see what they will be installing before handing over the keys. If it's not a trailer hitch I'll be taking it further! I know it seems quite petty but for them to send out a recall stating an OEM trailer hitch will be installed then deciding they CNBF and providing a lessor quality product without any notice is in direct contradiction of ACCC laws. I deal with contracts everyday and this type of crap just makes me more persistent to take it as far as I can simple out of principal.

Yep.
Keep me in the loop and I can go along the same.
Like mine, they may not do anything on Friday, just assess it and tell you they will do it 'when the parts come in'

Default waiting...

SO I had previously had my KJ booked in to get checked but was told that since mine doesn't have a bar currently I don't need to get it measured. They also said that the parts were on back order in the US and they'd call me when they come in. Not sure whether they mean the cross member or a towbar at this stage but I won't be taking it in to get a cross member fitted.

Does anyone have a copy of the letter as I never received mine and want to have it in case they try and foist a cross member on me?

Ok hear is what I've been told by the service manager and head office. There will be a new recall notice out in a month or 2. These will prob be scheduled to be done early next year when parts for the TRAILER HITCH will be available.

New letter just arrived...
Think its screwed up though.
It states.
If you don't have a tow bar - contact jeep dealer to arrange inspection.

If you do have a tow bar - Contact jeep dealer and let them know so they can let you know when parts will be available for your vehicle.

I would think if you don't have a tow bar you want to know when parts are available and if you do have one you don't really care..
