If your T/C is indeed failing to shift because it is binding I would check the type of fluid they put in the T/C, ATF is not the correct fluid.
Side note
Unplugging the T/C motor wiring harness will put the C140F code into stored mode so low range will work again.
Same as pulling the FDCM fuse under the bonnet.
