Yep, I lost mine for six years all together mate...

3x hoon law and 1x driving whilst suspended.

I drove for FIVE years without my license but i kept to my four rules

1. dont drive vehicles with plates registered to your name (that camera on the booze bus will automatically flag you as a know suspended driver)
2. Only drive during peak hour, or on busy roads during daylight hours
3. Never drive on weekends
4. Only drive when you have to i.e. not to the shop for milk, i only drove to work, gym or for car parts/house shit

I only had two months to go on my last charge and i broke rule number 2, i drove home at 1am.... i was the only car on the road...apart from the police car which got me! for this i got an extra 12 months, i get my licence back in 31 days!!
I used to drive a rollcaged 650hp falcon as a daily driver and this is how i racked up the hoon charges, i was younger then. now i have seen the light and brought a jeep! i can have my fun offroad instead.

mate, does your state have the "double or nothing" laws? (this is where you can elect to keep driving BUT your on probation for one year, if you get 1 demerit point then you will lose it for six months.)
my advice to you, if you live in a populated area and are facing loss of employment (and you love your job) well ya gotta do what you gotta do.
dont buy a 650hp v8 either

Hmmmm think you need to review that advice mate and your opinion of the laws and why they were created.... is it really "good and sound advice" really? REALLY?? might as well break every law in the country but hey who cares if you dont get caught right??

I find it astounding how people are generally so willing to do the wrong thing and not have any regards for their actions and be strong willed enough to accept the consequences for their actions! (Not directing that comment necessarily at you there H.G) BUT Im extremely disappointed that this post wasn't modded... what if Dustbowl was an 18yr old kid genuinely wanting advice, the advice of "well drive anyway and dont get caught" is why we have a problem generation and delinquents running around in the streets

People get killed because there is a disregard for the rules or lack of respect on the reason why laws and actions to the breaking of them are created.... not the cops fault, he wasnt breaking the law, you were. IMHO dont drive, do the right thing, man up to the consequences and have time to reflect... If anything it makes you a better person by doing the right thing

DONT DRIVE WHILE SUSPENDED!! SIMPLE

This thread was marked to be moderated, but in reality, its not offending anyone, and if someone wishes to take bad advice, ie flaunt the law and continue to drive and risk other peoples lives, their insurance, their lively hood etc etc etc then its their choice.

I for one would not condone it nor do it.

Jb I agree with you.

But I am really surprised that the thread has gone 3 pages and no one has been whining about the the spelling of 'license'.

Whatever happen to the 'spelling Nazis" that used to be on here???

I think they the NSW courts cracked down on work licences about 12 months ago due to the number of taxi drivers being done for demerit points and basically being able to drive all the time anyway.

I lost mine about a half dozen times in my younger days, for demerit point mainly (speeding mostly, some reckless driving). Havent had so much as a parking ticket for some 10 years now, must be mellowing as I get older. After reading this thread, think I might need a 3 month holiday myself....

I am loving all the input you blokes! The tips and advice, all the stories I don't feel nearly as bad about it, there's no need to flare up, we are all mates here

I don't plan on driving during my suspension, so don't fret

I believe the rules were a bit crap, I was on a dead straight bit of country road, miles from anyone, and just by chance the next blind corner he got me... So I'll bend over and take it just like the government wants to and tends to do to us all time to time

Ps, yes, I noticed the mistake the moment after I posted
