As a general comment, the larger the light becomes the more important the quality of the base / clamping method also becomes.

This can be compounded with all plastic lights, sometimes you just can't tighten things enough without damaging the plastic to stop them "sagging" on rough roads - which is a pita.

I used to have some smaller lights with a metal spherical mount and i swear you could just about pick the vehicle up on the light without moving it.... my later plastic larger light require a brace to stop them sagging.

Overall the bigger is better but......

the RR hid spotties have serrated and positive locking base, not a smooth spherical mount so once clamped down it cannot vibrate to another position, i have driven ove corrogations and the spots have been fine, the rest of the jeep however........

Default Roo lites

I have the roo lite 180's on the lower mounts of an ARB bar and they fill the gap well and produce decent light output.

Yeah thats what I was leaning toward bluenight.

For wnyone interested I just found set of brand new rugged ridge 7 in 35w HID's on ebay in Sydney for $150.

Showed the missus and she said NO WAY.... doesnt like the red on them!

So... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Almost seems a shame to pass them up - half tempted to buy them and resell them. The guy has a 100% feedback rating so they seem legit.

HID bulbs?? Are they the ARB Fatboy "HIR" bulbs for your car headlights? If so, then yes adjust the headlights, and yes they are very good - much brighter low beam. They are also available in H3 for the driving lights too.
Had both of these on a previous vehicle and thinking about spending the extra $$ to get them again (not cheap for a bulb replacement).
