Those with vents... what do you do about water getting in? Do you just position them not to hit anything electrical or can it be drained away somehow without affecting the flow of air?
Where I had mine positioned there was nothing electrical directly below them so it wasn't an issue...

I think they were 75mm bolts....
Think I used 50mm for mine but I spaced it 20x20x2.5mm rhs dura-gal mainly for appearances because the fun police freak out with just bolts/washer if you have a frontal accident as the bonnet can break loose and go thru the windscreen. By using the square tube it increases the shear strength of the bolts and don't use bolts that are threaded all the way to the head (more plain shaft on bolt increases the shear strength)

It would have to be a bloody hard hit to shear the bolts and have the bonnet come forward. There would have to be a massive frontal impact for that to happen. I get your point though.

Check flee-bay for 280/300ZX bonnet vents as they do the job nicely, aren't S/S reflecting sunlight in your eyes and easy to fit, cheap to buy (last time fitted to mates XJ cost $20ea delivered)

As the louvres are are rear facing (air flow wise) means the faces of the actual louvres are facing the front meaning that light reflection is not an issue, well I never found it to be which is why I'm going back to it again....

Hey I'm not being critical of how you did yours.

My son got done by Qld Transport and as I explained that was what they said to him. It cost him $330, defect notice & three points so in reality how cheap are bonnet vents after being clobbered by the plod!!!

All good mate. I do intend dropping my bonnet down and venting it in the near future.
