Why the odd shaped door on the side? Is this because you have to use something already made that is not the right shape?
It is the right shape actually its purely for aesthetics, it follows the line of the hatch, it also lets me have a wider door without haveing a big square door.
Down to my final two designs, I'm leaning towards the one with the windows on the front, they will be fix lexan windows, possibly need a cover over them for travelling. Anyway, not long now until I start the build
The sloped front will give you more pillow room and will give some space above head height for cupboards - albiet small units.
Only one door???? Nuthin worse than having to "climb over" the significant other in the middle of the night when nature calls. Better ventilation with 2 doors as well.
Noice drawings. Better that the quick sketches I did for mine....
cheers

Fantastic. I like the lines of the sloped front design.
I have a few questions:
How does the body attach to the frame/trailer chassis?
How do you go about getting something like this, (owner built) registered?
What sort of ply wood and joining methods are you going to use?
Painted or varnished finish? or a combination of both?
If you need a hand at any stage I would be, and am, more than willing to assist.
Looking good mate, definitely prefer the windowed design. More head space & you can look up at the stars
Don't know if this has come up yet, but do you have any plans for an awning off the side?
Where did you end up mounting the spare?
With mine the spare is in the car as it's the same bolt pattern. If needed I can carry a second spare on the roof of the car.
Quick "awning" that most guys use is an expandable gazebo unit that just folds down. Move it to the door or over the kitchen area.
and Yeah! I like the window design as well.
