that's great Bandicoot. You have answered several of my queries-eg: OEM front sensors & fog lights & front protection under radiator. I now understand why they haven't answered my email questions- they were so busy doing your bar!! Thanks for the info. Can't wait to get one down to SA (hopefully!).

I'm thinking of going for the bar with smaller side loops like this (with a plate on the bottom, but that was too hard to do on the photo)

I spoke to one of the 2 Jasons at J&J Bullbars again yesterday & discussed bash plate at front & they told me I would need a small "skirt" to cover up some of the "gear" underneath. I explained I didn't want to reduce approach angle for 4x4 tracks. I really need to see finished "skirt" to see if it would be OK. Looking at your picture I wonder if it's really needed- ?just a bash plate beneath radiator housing may be enough.
Also J&J are looking for someone to provide a car to be template for winch compatible bar so they can make winch cradle -then they will make winch bars up to order & freight interstate (they are looking at negotiating freight deal as ~25 enquiries/orders in 1st week including mine).

Wanderer: Looks goods just got a question what have they used to brace the inside of where your carrier is mounted......as mine in that position is only plastic { fibreglass } .

Blue C: If you didn't have the bottom bar and mesh { as in my case } or skirt there is 125 mm of radiator and intercooler exposed under bottom of main beam.... putting a bash plate from bottom of the main beam too under radiator would require holes or slots cut into it for air circulation. Doing it the way you're talking would certainly increase approach angle IMHO.

Default New bullbar, siderails & side steps

Bar went on today from J & J's. Here's some photos.
Grey powder coating looks good, even my wife approves!
First to go on were two very solid steel brackets for mounting the bar and the 2 x 10 000 lb recovery hooks. They attach to the chassis at the front.
Then the bar, fitted up with fog lights, spotties, HF aerial mount, sand flag bayonet mount, Anderson plug, and bash plate.
Then the side rails and side steps.
The front bottom part of the plastic inside guard gets the chop.
It's all very solid!
Sorry the truck looks so grubby; was out last weekend. SE Qld has run out of water. "Water police" takes on a whole new meaning up here these days.
I feel infinitely more confident driving out in the scrub now.

Geeezz Bandicoot now I'm jealous. Hopefully the steps and the brush rails will help stop you scratching the sides .... hahaha .......looks good BB.

Sounds like and looks like you have been trying out those Cooper ST's.
