I have had way too many R/Cs including 1:8 monster trucks with ridiculously over sized tyres, I'm really enjoying the idea of scale for a change. As it happens I do have a full set of 2.2 tyres and wheels to suit, have had them for a couple of years (on the off chance I got a crawler) - doubt I'll fit them to the TJ.

Fair enough, I just thought that 1.9's didn't look very scale on a 1:8 scale shell. Just my 2 cents.

My 2.2's look like crap on my Dingo.. I've now changed them to a different 2.2 that's got a more realistic look.

For those that didn't read my other pic whore post with the below images the bike tyres will be part of the Jambo crawler track - should be fun with a bit of moisture!

looks awesome.. resembles a tj on 35s or 37s.. nice work

That's the HPI shell designed to fit 1:8 monster trucks, the wheelbase is pretty close to that of the Honcho. Yep that's the SCX10 rollcage/tray/spare grafted to the TJ shell.

Ok folks, time for me to spam!

I reckon this event is as good as an excuse gets to buy yourself a toy Jeep. Other than a few finishing touches the track is now done and fully drivable. Actually I didn't drive the bog hole wet which could be an issue with climbing the A-frame with muddy tyres, if so I have plenty more wire mesh to attach.

I couldn't get my crawler up the steep side of the A-frame (could we call that the Matterhorn Jimmy?) although going down it is just as much fun as the swing bridge.

It was a fun days building and an awesome turnout from MJOC getting Lardner sorted for what is going to be one hell of an enjoyable weekend. Thanks to everyone that's lent a hand!

This is the sweetest venue; has 240V, lighting, BULK seating, nearby toilets and a pretty view of the dam.
