timing is not adjustable but id start with the cap, rotor and leads and go from there. also look for slop in the timing chain and the dizzy drive gear. as well, the injectors may be restricted or not providing a proper spray pattern. also make sure the spark plugs are in good condition and properly gapped

Took her into ARB to get the safari washer bottle repaired under warranty, they stung me $30 for freight as it was installed by another party even though the snorkel originated from Arb. Bought a new belt to replace the one that got eaten on Friday , will put it on tomorrow any pointers for getting rid of the belt squeak I have tried wd40 and soap.

get a white tire crayon and start it up and apply the crayon to as much of the belt surface as you can while its running. works everytime... just watch yer fingers!

Just watch your water pump now that there is a belt sweeek happend to me 3 times and aferer a couple of monts the pump failed

Took it for a test drive after the transfer case chain replacement. Pleased to say no more knock as well as no more driveline jerking when I back off the throttle. Nice!

Recommended service item if you have had your XJ for a while without a chain replacement. Mine is ~250,000km
