I have a heavy foot & a couple of 100kg extra gear and long range tank full most of the time and it's hilly where I live so there will be some variation...always a bit subjective..I'm happy...fuel consumption, power & torque haven't deteriorated..Induction noise takes a bit getting used to though.

Mine is definitely flatter at the top end and the fuel use is noticeably higher. Such is life. The induction noise is certainly noticeable and there is also wind noise.

Cheers

Such is life indeed but a good insurance policy..Cost of a hydrolocked diesel engine wouldn't be that exciting..would make any increased fuel consumption look pathetic....Bit hard to judge wind noise increase..My roof racks would drown it out but I dare say there would be some. If I didn't have a diesel then I'd probably not fit a snorkel just for water crossing alone...I mainly do desert touring so the snorkel does provide cooler air up higher and less dust maybe..Depends on if any of my mates are in front and how close..Got to say, fitting a snorkel does mean up the WK2 to look less of a town SUV and more an offroad 4x4...If it were a manual you could do gear shifts via the induction noise.

Just back from a quick trip to Hervey Bay from Melbourne.

I thought I might try an experiment to reduce the wind noise from the Airflow snorkel. I packed the gap between the snorkel body and the A pillar with some foam - the strip from the edge of those foam squares you use when camping.

It worked very well. There is a marked reduction in the wind noise.

This is a temporary fix until I work out how to do it more elegantly...

Cheers

Default WK2 Snorkel

I don't have any wind noise to talk of, just a far bit of induction noise when I put the boot in above 3500 RPM.

Mine made a lot of wind noise - very irritating! Maybe yours was mounted closer to the A pillar?

I might try loosening the bolt and moving it closer.

Cheers
