Hutch-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Blackhawk..CRD feel the power.
Having gone from 20s to 18s myself the truck with ride more comfortably on 18s on the black top. And even on sand you don't worry about rolling over tree roots etc at speed because there is more side wall between the sand and the rim.

Sell the 20", I did. Urban only warriors will lap them up.

I've got both.
I just took my 20's off as they are now unroadworthy. Put on my 18's as I'm planning a trip to QLD in the new year and will be going to Fraser Island just for a day.
I plan on fitting 275/45 x 20's when I finally decide to refit them next year.
The 18's have Cooper AT3's in 265/60 x 18 but they are only a P rated tyre. When I need to replace them (if I still have the Jeep) I'll be going 265/65 x 18 BFG AT's.

I want the 20's for when I'm just staying on the blacktop as I'll be putting on a quality assymetric tyre that's a lot quieter than the Coopers that are on at the moment.

Plus I have room to store them without SWMBO giving me grief.....hehe

Hi coujo,
I'm interested in any info re scrubbing, noise, handling... how does it goes comparing to the stock Kumho? What suspension do you have, QL?
I found a good deal on these tyres and I'm considering grabbing it!

Thanks!

Hi,

We replaced both the spare steel rim/tyre (245/65 R1 with the Jeep alloy - yes it fits fine on it.

We also replaced the spare anyway with an exact match to the car 265/60 R18 and alloy spare, so we now have two spares.

The steel rim sits in the shed now!

See here:

Cheers,

Hi,

Oh sorry, got ya!

I think you will find the 245 steel rim too narrow for the 265 tyre.

The tyre guy reckons it's much better to have a match to the other wheels on the car, esp if you get a flat a long way from a tyre shop!

You might have to take it in to someone to try - but I reckon it will be too narrow.

Jeep should just have matched the spare to begin with - the alloy fits fine in the spare wheel well, albeit face up and not with the jack on top. You have to relocate that. But the cover closes, that is the main thing.

Cheers,
Sally
