Finally got mine dirty with a trip to SW WA to get some waves and some rest. Took the misses out to the lonely chair. Been there for years but not too many people know about it. Perfect spot for a beer and a sunset

Jeep handled great on the rutted, corrugated, sandy and limestone tracks the SW is known for. Plenty of torque. Hate the air suspension being so noisy though. That's a real downer. Very surprised how good the QDII and all the electronics are. Hill descent is awesome and used to having to give a bit of right boot to get traction control working in my amarok but the jeep just walks.

Looking forward to hitting some tougher rocky trails and see how it goes.

Hi,

Wow, that's a big boat!

What is your ball weight?

The prob is, even just a litte payload in the car and you will be over your GCM and therefore illegal. And you know what insurance companies are like! Even your spare and just some toolboxes in the rear will tip you over.

We went to a public weigh in at the Brisbane Showgrounds a few months ago. You'd be surprised just how heavy the Jeep is with just a bit of stuff in it! But if you can travel light, good luck to ya! They weighed each axle as well as total GCM, van on it's own and car on it's own. Well worth attending.

The Jeep tows so well, I'm not surprised that it tows your 3.5 tonne boat with ease though.

Enjoy!

Cheers,
Sally

Yep knew that was coming thanks for your concern. On the weighbridge last sat with full boat and anything i would ever have j the car was 6100kgs. Incl me. So add a few more people and still legal.

Ball weight is around 320kgs

That's great then.

We've got a Cruisecraft Explorer 575 that we tow with the Pajero.

Everyone said it weighed less than 2000kg - doesn't need a break away unit/electric brakes.... a lot of that goes on with boats, dry weights without any fuel, etc? Silly.

Took it to the local weighbridge loaded only with half the 160 litres of fuel and a few fishing items in it and it came in at 2.2 tonnes! We traded our existing trailer to one with breakaway breaks and the Hydrastar braking unit and not only does it feel so much better pulling up, no worries on safety or legalities!

Have fun,
Sally

Yeh i with ya i take my trailer legalities and braking very seriously. Hence i know my exact weights with fuel and water. I can get my boat down too 2600kgs totally empty. But with inbuild fridges and water tanks and stuff it adds up very quick.

Trailers got double caliper braking on each wheel! Its a serious custom trailer that is perfectly weighted!

Cheers
Vinnie
