swapped out the crappy old Goodyear 35s for some brand new MT 35x13.50 Claws (the older style bias ply units). drives MUCH better now and was surprised how quiet they are

Default help needed steering

hi guys can anyone help i put a new pitman arm on, but now the steering wheel is upside down, never happened to any other cars i have done, the pitman arm can only slot back in the same position unlike ford sedans and other cars i have done, im at a loss has this happened to any one else and how do i fix it and why did it happen. only thing i can think is take steering wheel of and move to correct spot as have done that in cars before, but not keen as air bag. had i peak at shaft running to steering box thought maybe un pin it and rotate that but doesnt look to easy at all. any ideas please. stumped why wheel upside down im left it a straight ect when taking old pitmarn arm off. i adjusted the link underneath but lost full lock one way on the steering, maybe thinking about it possibly turn drag link right in untill no thread left exposed then hook back on and adjust it back out. its been a pain.

where did u get the pitman arm? is it for RHD or LHD? and are you SURE you didnt move the steering wheel or tires while fitting it? did you replace or adjust the rod end on the draglink? has to be one of these 3 scenarios

you cant remove the steering wheel and adjust it as it is splined and only goes on one way so forget that idea

got pitman arm of wooders garage, right hand drive and noticed the pitman arm can only slot on certain ways, wheels were straight and steering wheel was too. done plenty of pitman arms on sedans, chryslers and fords before first time on a 4x4.
got me stumped how steering wheel got to upside down position. as i said adjusting link looses turn one way on steering and gains more opposite lock. and i had not touched the drag link at all when i replaced pitman arm left all the way i dismantled it. only after i got in car and found wheel upside down.

im thinking the pitman shaft turned when you removed or installed the new arm. OR, double check the two pitman arms and see if they are slotted and angled the same
