It's your decision Kat, but might I make one suggestion.Get a mighty big winch for it coz when it breaks through the waifer thin tar up here ain't no one gonna move a Hummer.

You would need a roadtrain licence to drive one of those things don't you

A lot of people assume that it must be big if it's a hummer but the h3 is very small compared to the h1 and h2 similare in size to a toyota rav 4 or kluger

TJIM> Luckily they have gone 'downhill' from there! I'd be worried if i needed all that weaponry to take a simple drive to Woolies. I have enough road rrage within me, then giving me a weapon in my hand. I'm sure I'll have enough water supplies with my water bottle that will fit snugly into the middle console - perfect. No famine here!

I've met a few guys up here that drive them and havent run into any problems. The h3 is smaller then my mum's landcruizer wagon so no road train lisence here but still looking at getting my truck lisence. Your welcome to come pimp yourself out at clown parties with me and jess....welcome to bring your new fur baby too!

Saw a H3 coming out of Maccas with 22's and low profiles on the weekend.

I had to laugh, it kind of reminded me of that pic of the JK with low profiles - bit of a horse and kart style wheels.

But that HMMWV looks alright - how big are those tyres? There's normally some H1's running around here every 18 months or so for the joint Aus / USA exercises up Shoalwater and they look like they roll on 37 - 40 inch rubber...

From the factory H1 and HMMWV run 37" (stock tyres are pictured above) but alot of the sf rigs now run swampers for the sand and rock... They're all generally 37s with 16" flat ground clearance. schweet.

Was driving an up-armoured HMMWV around a few weeks ago, like driving a pontoon or bus haha. the passanger side window is about the size of an A4 piece of paper, two inches thick and it's a looong way off, you can barely see out the mirror. 3 speed tranny sits up high between you and the passanger so it's noisy as shit insude buttoned down, they were never intended to lug around all the extra armour weight but it'll still move if you want it to in a hurry.

H3 would be pretty slick to boot around town in, just not so sure about their clearances and expensive parts.
