Monster,

Yeah the CRD has a hole in the airbox north facing (forward) about 50mm & that plumbs via that consantina bit to a moulded bit behind the RHS head light. Not up above like the 3.7L, not sure why its like that, there is room to do something similar as yours to the CRD. Anyway I think there are 2 options. 1. Blank off that hole & bust a new one east (out the guard) to line up with the outside pipe work. or 2. use original hole with elbow to make the hole futher forwards on the guard but then the washer bottle is in the way.

Another option I suppose is to blow away the whole airbox idea & fit a purpose built airfilter housing that is streamlined enough to fit a second battery. NOw thats what Im talking about.

Having a look at a TJ, they just use flexi from the airbox all the way down to the drivers door lower hinge (near) then up & out she goes.

Thanks Fouros, that looks the same as mine. But cleaner!

@ salesguy
Buy 4, you never know when you might need a spare or two!
It'd be really cool if you'd fit one to a demo KJ, nice advertising for Airflow.

I definitely want one. 2003 2.8l Turbo CRD. Does anyone have a photo of an Airflow Snorkel?

Well there is a difference between the 2003 & the 2005 CRD, first of all, looks like Jeep went the cheap option with the lack of embossed JEEP on the top of the airbox. Enough on asthetics, there appears to be less room between the front of the airbox & the rear of the headlight on the 2003, there doesnt seem to be enough room in front of the 2003 for an elbow, but is on the 2005. More reason to blow away the airbox & have a streamlined filter housing that can be positioned in the right spot for the rigid outboard gear. (and to make some room for the 2nd battery)

@ palla
You really want that 2nd battery don't you! I'll leave the technicalities of the underbonnet plumbing to the experts, but I'm sure they'll come up with something suitable.
