Default ECU Tune Report

Hi all,

I have now travelled 6077 Klm's and 8 tanks of fuel since Trailhawk performed the ECU & throttle remap. Figured that this should be enough to post a report & comparison.

Prior to the ECU remap, I had travelled 23,288 Klm's from new and averaged 9.38 Lt per 100 Klm's. This is by means of recording klm's travelled and litres used at each fill, not by the EVIC. My driving is a mixture of freeway, around town and towing at least every 2 - 3 days.

These are my findings: -
* My average fuel economy since the remap is now 9.35 Lt per 100 Klm's.
* Drivability has improved out of site (not that I thrash it).
* Throttle response when towing or not is awesome.
* Turbo lag.......what turbo lag????
* Seems to use a touch more fuel when towing and less on the freeway which is surprising as I expected it to be the other way around.
* Seems to use more fuel on excess idle (driving when cold until warms up).

I would imagine that those that don't tow regularly would benefit more in the fuel economy area.

Do I think it is worth spending the coin........shit yeah!!

I honestly expected a sacrifice in fuel economy to now be driving around with 214Kw & 645Nm under foot and wouldn't have minded.
I am now pleasantly surprised.

Next step is an exhaust upgrade.
Will record the fuel economy after the exhaust is fitted and also post the dyno results.

Hope this helps others thinking above taking the plunge.

Cheers, Craig

Having the upgraded exhaust done this Thursday.
Will be posting before & after dyno results.

Will post fuel economy differences after a few tanks at least.

Cheers, Craig

Chero Cherokee30D, thanks for writing up your experiences, couple of questions if I may:

How much does the tune and remap cost?
Does it allow you to throw some black smoke out the back? I know it's not everyones cup of tea but I genuinely miss it.

Hi SnakeDoctor,
The remap was $990.00.
No black smoke fortunately, or unfortunately for you.

Will keep you posted.

Cheers, Craig
