I have been able to weigh a few more parts. Unfortunately, the trailer will be over 200kg but not by too much. Excluding the tyres and the alluminium mud guards the weight of the trailer has come in at 198.5 kg. Very happy with that

Weights in kgs:
Chassis/Frame/Hitch 48.5
Aluminium Box 38.5
Springs 24.0
Shocks/Bump Stops/Mounts 9.2
Hubs/Chain 8.0
Wiring/Lights/Jerries 2.0
Top Door/Back door 12.0
Rims x 3 25.8
Axle 22.3
Box Edging 4.1
Sub Total 198.5

Mud Guards ?
3 Tyres ?

Sorry about the lighting in the following pics. I spent all weekend on the trailer trying to get it ready for its first serious road trip from Brisbane to Coffs Harbour in less then 2 weeks. Looks like it is very much on track to get there

All welding is finished on the frame. Mud guard braces are on, straight and allow the box to fit in fairly tightly.

Leaf springs are on. Bolts are the perfect length. The bracket sitting between the axle and springs will be replaced after the trip.

The gap between frame and tyre (2.5"). Tyres are 31 x 10.5 x R15 LT (Light truck). About as certain as possible that there will be no blow outs ever.

The box sitting in place - edging yet to go on.

Front on - Edging and mud guards to go on.

I have cut and bent up the mudguards using the same al checker plate. Have some edging for them but will still need to pick up some mudguards from Clark Rubber. Hopefully all will happen this weekend.

I picked up the license plate and manufacturing plate from Qld Transport (no inspection required). The lighting will need to go in as well this weekend. Can't wait to hit the road. ;D

When we return from Coffs I will pick up the tent and make up the door for the front of the box. Shocky mounts and front jerry can holders will also need to be made up before the Cape trip in July.

Look awesome Morgs, really coming together well! Look forward to seeing the guards on and rolling along!

Looks like we have a convoy of Jeeps with camper trailers heading for Coffs, should be able to cause a good traffic jam with this lot

I want a front drive shaft so I can go 4 wheeling

Cheers guys - I am also happy with how it seems to be turning out. I was concerned it would look like too much checker plate but it should be alright.

Macca - the guards better be on this weekend. In fact if the rear door, edging, mudguards and lighting are not finished I will have some problems with getting it to Coffs. On the down side I cannot see myself having enough time to fit the shocky mounts.

After a bit more elbow grease, the trailer is on the road and ready to get moving for Easter. Still a lot more to do but for now I am a little over stinking of welding and grinding. I took it for a test drive and could not hear it behind me- too much foam between all joins that have not been welded. I had intended to put shocks on it but am thinking again as the leaf springs are absolutely sweet. Will see how it goes with 100/150kg of weight in it.

For some reason the jeep looks lower in the back in this next pic. It is actually level with the trailer on and usually a little higher in the back when without any weight.

The rubber grommet used to stop the electrical cable rubing on the sides of the hole drilled in the draw bar is from the homebrew section in woolies.
