Ed, there are better options than the dealer. If you get the mighty expensive OE pipe it will be more of the same thing, likely to fail in the future. 'All Grand Cherokee' in Melbourne have a silicone pipe solution rated for much longer life and it comes in at only a few bucks, virtually nothing. Labour is then the biggest part of the job. Other independent Jeep mechanics are no doubt doing similar mods. Also suggest getting the turbo pipe at the rear of the engine done at the same time, and even the oil cooler return hose. All 3 hoses are prone to failure and it makes sense to do them while everything is stripped down.

Ed, put your vehicle details in your sig then we know what it is and have to go searching as not all JGC VM engines have the dreaded Valley hose, earlier models have oil cooled turbo's where later ones were upgraded to oil/water cooled jobs to remove the problem of oil glazing and replace it with coolant leaking.

Jeepsgofaster,. Ten thousand OE lifters on backorder in the states a couple of years ago.! Enough info / theories to fill a book on why these lifters fail.Even aftermarket lifters failing in US.It does look like lubrication / oil failure however
why arent all hemis failing.? I had a mate with a 3 year old Ram 1500 ,under 60000 lifters went.Jeep put in a new crate engine still had problems, not lifters,
bought a new diesel Ram. I know of another two failures in the last two weeks in 6.4 JGC one at a Jeep dealer ,other at an independant operation here Nthn NSW.
Now three failures in Chrysler 300 SRT Highway patrol cars up this way ,all at various klms, plus other problems. There has been aclass action instigated re these hemi lifter failures in US,will be interesting what the outcome is ,if any!

True, something we keep pointing out. For some reason I was thinking Ed has a 2014 diesel, hence my comments. Might be getting confused with someone else...
