heya Pipe's
optical illusion... its all pretty straight through the section we drove through, the track is actually straight for over 30 metres after the bog hole (2x9m snatch straps + patrol + jeep and still a bit of room).
the patrol was the first across, there is a big rut (that my car is in - hence the angle i'm on), he also slipped into it and couldn't get through so we snatched him back (snatch straps were attached and ready to go), attached all the winch gear (setup before the first attempt, 1 winch, 1 tree protector, 1 winch extension, 2 drag chains, 1 winch block.) then winched the patrol through.
We never thought we'd get through unassisted so everything was prepared in advance, routes planned, lots of thinking went into it (about 30-45minutes before the first patrol attempt). No body wanted to damage cars through stupidty or lack of planning.
oh and my wheels are spinning as there is a bit of step in the exit and the patrol hit a really soft patch and lost traction, had to back up the patrol a bit and go again and got out.In the photo in the foreground is some of the gear after clearing the patrol... would have only taken a couple of minutes to hook me up if the patrol couldn't get traction as the extensions were still in place jsut off to the side of the track.
