That's a good point about the availability of the tyres - not one I'd considered...

The MTZ's are one I'm planning on getting a couple more quotes on I've been quoted around the $300 mark from WideTread but definitely getting more quotes before I buy any tyre.

I plan to rotate at 5-7,000kms or so (guess I'll ask the tyre crowd what they recommend). What sort of pressure do you run for interests sake?

And I totally agree, thats the whole reason I'm on here. Cheers!

Remember I am running 285X75R16 on an 8"rim and the pressure is 30 PSI...

This pressure has been chosen because on my jeep it gives me a clean chalk line across the tyre and a softer ride with my heavier (firmer) suspension...

Every jeep will be slightly diff and you may need to adjust up or down.

The lower pressure also uses more fuel and if I were to go on a long loaded trip the pressures would be increased to about 34 PSI...

Once again it depends on where you are driving, what you are driving and how you drive.

To low and the jeep will under steer to high and you will over steer... this can also be adjusted by having higher pressures in the back or front but now we're just getting to complicated...

That’s why F1 teams spend so much time playing with tyres....

This chalk-line business; drawing a line across your tire, rolling forward and studying the mark left on the ground? Its something I've heard mentioned before but never really looked into.
