Anyone know of a South East QLD supplier for the AEV bar? Almost bought a second hand one but that fell through, now have my heart set on one but cant justify the massive freight charges from Melbourne to Sunshine Coast

Alternatively, anyone bought one directly from the US recently that can advise of the freight costs and if they had to pay import duty? I tried sending an email to Quadratech but as usual have not had a reply... (they must be too busy to reply to emails, or their spam filters are really tight and keep send mine tot he junk box!)

Mopar have now released their steel front winch bar with integrated fog lights (not the separate bolt on ones). Its alright. You don't really want much weight on the front of it. Might be an option for you.

Would take about 30 minutes of a good welder's time to gusset the mopar bar's wing sections properly and make it strong enough for most people.

Problem with the ARB bar is removing the damn thing...

Not impressed with the looks of the Mopar bars, toss up between the ARB for price or the AEV for looks..

Was pricing it up from Jeepkonnection and freight for the bar and winch plate came to $206, add the $50 cover plate (as I wont have a winch for a while) and freight jumped to $314!!!! WTF? Might have to call them and find out what is going on.

Seacomms, I'm in the same position as you. I'll be getting my new front bar may/march next year and am already looking at what to get. I like the AEV but the price getting it here is making me like the ARB one better. I want something that'll offer me better front protection in case of a roo encounter more so then the approach angles etc.

SeaComms, definately give them a call. Their online freight quotation is quite generous. When I ordered snorkle and some other bits and pieces the freight worked out to a fair amount less than the original online quote.

Wish I had gone for the AEV, the ARB is pretty heavy - I noticed the change in handling straight away.

AEV is heavier than the ARB.

DBOR weighed them.
