Hi Nick,

Very simple.

Purchase a replacement garage remote that is suitable for your system. eBay has many cheaper options for main stream systems.
Program that remote using the instructions from the manufacturer.
Purchase any button that you think would look good! Make sure it is a normally open contact (some buttons can do both n/o and n/c). It should also be just a momentary push button. I used one with an LED ring that I wired up to the lights, so when the lights are on its lit.
Solder wires across the remote control button you have programmed.
Solder the other ends to the new button you have bought. I used crimp spade connectors on the wires so I can easily remove the remote if needed.
Push the button!

If you need a better write up let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Kev.

Thanks Kev.

What length is the awning? Is it a 2m or 2.5m down the length of the car?

It's 2.5m Rhino Rack. (Canvas is the same as the OzTent).

Awesome work on the snorkel Stu - hopefully it'll fit the 3.6L petrol too!

Just had our first child so my wife has put a hold on any major modifications now, so unfortunately no bull bar yet. I'm thinking I may be able to convince her of the snorkel though!

Once he's a bit older I'll be keen to head up to LCMP with everyone.

I've been meaning to give you a shout - after your opinion on my rear suspension. As we don't have the self levelling shocks, when it's loaded for camping it does sag more than expected.
As I see it I have a few options:
1 - retrofit self levelling shocks (expensive, and with the issues I've read about knocking noises it may not be the best option)
2 - airbags (never been keen on these, but for the amount of time we're fully loaded it may be the best option)
3 - stiffer springs (sounds good in practice, and we may get away with them due to having the underbody skid plates which are fairly heavy at the rear)
4 - just put up with it. It's not that much of an issue, just enough to investigate other options.

Stu - what would you do? Would you be keen on obtaining any stiffer springs?

Thanks,

Kev.
