Guys!

Thank's for all your efforts to date on this one. Just for a laugh, I thought I would call the local dealer for a quotation on these 2 hoses if we were to buy Genuine Jeep parts (remember all the commentary from the Turbo Experts about how CRAP these are, keep this in mind when you keep reading below):

Turbo Pipe- Turbo to Intercooler: Part No K55056639AB
Turbo Pipe- Intercooler to Inlet Manifold: Part No K55056640AC

Price for the pair: $824.44

And no, I am not kidding. $825 for some of the crappiest Turbo Pipes that people have ever seen.

Now, boy's and girls, can you spell "ripoff"?

Oh, one more question. Since the Turbo Pipe on the Inlet Manifold side let go, I don't really trust the Turbo (Turbo to Intercooler) side. I figure, if one side went, then the other can't ve too far behind.

Out of everyone who has had one replaced, has DC ever replaced both (which I though would have been best practice)? And, if not, which side went first?

Intake side for me... any other takers?

I wonder how I can 'help' the other side along.........

Tassiemav I pretty much thought the same thing about the other pipe blowing aswell as pressure will pretty much be the same, anyway turbo dude pointed out that the turbo pipe gets way more heat damage hence its short life, however he didn't rule out the possibilties of it going, just that it would probably last 2 or 3 times as long.

yeah the cheap pipes are a symptom of what is wrong with jeep since dc got a hold of it. the pre 2001 0r up to 2001 jeeps before DC were a much higher standard of build and quality. these pipes are absolutely the pits. at least aimler is gone now and when the auto industry gets restructured and cerberus gets it's act together we can only hope jeep is split from chrysler and the quality put back into the product. the xj cherokee and equivalent grand and the tj wrangler were absolute quality vehicles. lets hope this phase of the jeep era is over soon. the brand really needs it.

seeing as I have stuck a sticker on the front window and voided my warranty, I have been thinking about putting in an air/water intercooler that runs over the top over the motor, reducing the distance between the turbo and the intercooler and the intercooler and the inlet valves.

This should reduce the lag, remove the intercooler from the front will also make the radiator run cooler (not that this is an issue yet).

Cut a hole in the bonnet and mount the water air intercooler to the bottom of the bonnet and the cooling fan on the drivers side, with a baffle to direct the air down......
