Hi all,
Mine was done back in July when a service was performed in Townsville.

Thought nothing more about it until a couple of weeks ago I noticed the "Service 4WD System" was displayed momentarily when the key was switched on.

I then had it into Albion to get it sorted and checked it when finished. It wend into 4 Low and out again OK so I reckoned all OK.

Tonight noticed it flashes "Transmission Temp High" when switched on. Tried putting into 4 Low and "Service 4WD System on again.

When I switch off it disappears but comes back if 4 Low is selected.

Anyone know if the old program can be flashed back into the controller?

Cheers

Interesting about the "transmission temp high" coming on, I had the same thing happen to me during the trip to Fraser. It came on twice while driving the beach and I'd only travelled about a kilometer both times, I heard the fan engage and when this happened the warning went off. I stopped and checked the transmission case both times and it was cool as. I'll be taking this up with the dealer in the next couple of days when I talk to them further about the actuator motor.

I noticed the"Transmission Temp High" flashes momentarily when I switched on the ignition some time back before the flash was done.

I discovered this when I was trying the key trick to get the fault codes to display on the dash (didn't work ). In my case there is no fault, I believe its the computer doing its pre-start checks.

I can still get it to do it now by turning the key on/off quickly a couple of times.

For all those having problems after the flash it might be helpful if you post what codes are coming up so we can compare issues & maybe a common cause.

hi all, had my WK in for the recall about 6 weeks ago, no sooner done than I had service 4WD system on evic, took it back when I got the chance, they told me it was a coincidence that the message came up at that time and I need to replace an actuator at a price of $1100,I asked if that would fix the problem they werenot sure, do I get my money back if not? told no. took Jeep to a dealer in Adelaide as I had bussiness down there ( I live 2 hours from Adelaide) service dept put jeep on their computer and fixed the problem in 30 minutes. the problem was that the original upgrade had not been completed properly.
be very careful wher you take your Jeep for upgrades.

Default Safety Recall N23 for WH anyone had it done yet?

I had the upgrade done, probably, about 1 month ago. I've since done a 1200km road trip, then seen this post.

Yesterday found a gravel road and tried Low Range, no issues for me. "Upgrade" done at Adrien Brian Jeep.

I understand that this issue is not affecting every vehicle, according to the dealership I go to there have only been 2 vehicles affected to date, mine and another. I'd check your low range again sometime though just to make absolutely sure as I believe there have been instances where it has been checked after the upgrade but failed later.

The fact of the matter is that a majority of owners probably have never selected 4xlow as they don't use their vehicle for off road use it's mainly used for general use and towing. Since I've owned mine I've probably selected 4xlow on a few occasions as these vehicles are very capable in hi range, I've only selected it once on Fraser just to give low range a run.

Soilven,
I tend to agree with Roscoe on this one as I checked mine on leving the dealership and all was OK.
A few days later when I selected 4LOW it all went pearshape again.

Mine is booked into Albion Jeep again on Monday for them to investigate again.

Will certainly be doing what Clarkey suggested and asking them to clear the code 3 times

Cheers
