No problem with hosting it on private property, just make sure you have at least 20 Mill in public liability

Cheers

I hope Jambo hasn't died in Oz.
It wont die, as I mentioned before SJC would run it again if we had to and I'm sure MJOC would as well and possibly the Cherokee Club. Be a shame to keep having it in the same couple of places though.

Cheers

Certainly would be possible depending on availability of tracks etc. But the main problem is which club would run it. I personally feel a smaller club could run a jambo with help from the other clubs. I'd like another state to run it like SA for example.

As for the other comments about jambo being cold, harden up princess it was a balmy 1 degree, that's almost tropical for the blue mountains

As steve said, it wont be allowed to die, it may need to change with the times and be more low key, but it wont die.

Melbourne 2004 was based on a private property we hired.

Not sure what "change with the times" or "low key" mean though - other than sounding mighty like the MJOC annual Muster or Camp Coffs neither of which really achieve the national aim which is the Jambo even though CC attracts a few interstaters.

I think Wolfe means that he'd like to see the event continue in whatever means possible regardless of corporate backing. So if that means a smaller budget or less fancy, then so be it.
Also smaller clubs should not feel that they have to "outdo" previous events - and thus are not prepared to run a Jambo.

I suppose the question to the punters should be, do you want a big flashy commercial type of event, or would you rather see maybe a smaller, less flashy event run by the various clubs?
Personally I'd rather see an event run by Jeepers for Jeepers, regardless of the size or facilities, because for me it's an excuse to wheel somewhere I don't normally, to meet up with old & new mates and to check out what everyone upto with their Jeeps and a bit of R&R time with the family - traditionally the Jambo.....
