You are correct, My limiting factor used to be my rubicon sway bar even when disconnected ( not truely disconnected fully.) The sway bar is now dead and off the car.
What length links were you using? Was your swaybar horz or angled up when car is level?
We have ours angled up just of horizontal. Seem to work well here. This is on a Rubicon sway bar. We run the heim joints on the links because of the flex from the coilovers. With the standard bushed links we found them to be binding and breaking bolts. This system provides plenty of movement.

I have long links also so the swaybar is angled up at rest. I like the look of your ones as I am having a similar problem with the bushes getting pinched and also tearing the boot on the other end.
What brand are they?
