Pulled my NSS, managed to snap half the threaded part of the wiper arm while 'gently' levering it out. Have found this to be reasonably common problem, but have yet to find out if it worked out okay if reassembled still broken... ah well worst case is I buy a shiny new one I guess

I would more than likey use the drill and tap method. I tried an easy-out on another car before the Jeep. I ended snapping it off cause the size of it was tiny. Luckly I was able to get the easy-out, out by using vice grips. I was lucky cause drilling hardened steel is not my idea of fun. Hence next time I would drill and tap, and if worse came to worst I would then helicol it.

Started a switch panel to go in place of the ash tray. So far so good. Only problem is I made the support bracket for it slightly too large. Turns out the back wall of the ash tray is 1-2 mm narrower than at the front where I measured it with verniers.
I will need to get a shifter from a 97+ xj to get a bit more clearance between the shifter and the switches.

Yes I know it needs a clean...

Maybe its just the angle but that looks like its got enough clearance(enough for my girly hands at least), especially remembering that your going to be in Drive most of the time.

Yeah, there is just enough clearance. It will be fine short term. As they will be locker and winch controls they arn't the things you want accidentally on.

looked at an engine with geroxj what do yous reckon about swapping a 2000 engine into a 1994 keep the old computer, or just swap everything out into the 1994 including the computer

Use the long block after replacing the head gasket and all the welshplugs.
