Hope you enjoyed fitting it.

I'm not 100% sure about water collecting in the bottom of the snorkel without seeing a pic. I fitted mine to a WG and water cannot sit in the snorkel itself, only drop into the airbox base which has a 1/4" drain hole. No fear of any water splashing into the intake as there is a filter in the way.

I've driven in downpours with no problem, no sign of any water stains etc in airbox.

PS nice colour, best of the GC, almost make we want to colour code my front bar
valplacer, when you say "nowhere that hard" did you have any problems with the bonnet hitting the snorkle? or fexable pipe/tube stopping the plastic inner guard from fitting back correctly??.
Also hows the noise factor??.
Regards
John
PS How/ were does the flexiable pipe connect to? is it where the existing air intake enters the box?? or is a new hole required.

Hi John,

Bonnet misses the snorkel by about 10mm, removed some of the stuffing to make it fit easier under the guard.

The airbox gets a new hole, and the existing is capped. Pics below. Small amount of trimming to the inner guard where you can see the hose.

I wouldnt hold your breath on the bonnet missing the snorkel as the one i fitted to dads car actually hits.

Airflow snorkels can be a luck of the draw as to how well they fit and if the moulds have been finished correctly...

the snorkel i fitted to dads WH did not line up properly because the studs were out of allignment and it took a little bit of extra mucking around to get it right. Some have had the same issues, but at the same time, alot have had them installed with no troubles.

as for the airbox, it is designed purely for a performance gain as it will be a higher air flow box (if that makes sense...). That will be an expensive cold air intake when you add the price of the snorkel and the box together as I'm pretty sure the box wont be that cheap either. IMO, if you want a performance gain, install a chip and exhaust. I honestly dont think there is much to gain (power wise) out of the snorkel, for the CRD anyway.
