Hi Guys
Thanks for your comments.
If you look back through my thread you will see a long and detailed list of all the work that the dealership mechanics did to try to find the problem. So I dont want to go over too much old ground. But what has got me excited (apart from having $30,000 worth of cars which are now effectively worthless) is that the second car failing in the identical manner of the first one, really does narrow down the issue. I always had a nagging thought that it might have been rats chewing some wires somewhere. So I took extra precaustion against rodents this time (even photographing the dust on the plastic covers under the bonnet to see if rat tracks appeared over the 4 months. They didn't)
If I wasn't in virus lockdown I would take the white car to the dealership just to get them to see what codes are being thrown. The yelllow car code (at the beginning) was faulty turbo wastegate. But installing a brand new OEM turbo, including wastegate, made no difference.
It is also important to keep in mind that I can trick the turbos in both cars to work perfectly - for a few minutes. That tells me that the turbos are fine.
What I am hoping to find (and I will go onto the Jeep group at Facebook - thanks for the idea Josh) is that there must be another example of this problem somewhere else in the world. I want to find out who, where and what they have done about it. These can't be the only two Wranglers in the world with this problem - surely??
